In May 2019, fans marked the 4th anniversary of MONSTA X (몬스타엑스) with an ad on a Seoul city bus. Dark red panels with the words "MONSTA X 4TH ANNIVERSARY" ran along both sides of the bus, and the main panel is signed "BY MONBEBE GLOBAL SUPPORT". Here is what the ad looked like, and how fans in other countries can plan something similar.

Where was the ad displayed?

The ad was on the outside of a blue Seoul city bus. In our photos the bus carries the number 320 on its side. We have pictures of the road side and the door side. We do not have a photo of the rear, so we cannot say whether a strip was placed there too.

We also don't know the stops along the route where the bus was seen, or the exact days the ad ran, so we have left those out.

What did the ad look like?

The whole design is built on a deep red background with small white dots and the group's angular logo in white.

Road side. The long panel shows seven members in white stage outfits, some of them in white caps. "MONSTA X" sits across the middle in large white letters, with "4TH ANNIVERSARY" directly under it. A red corner tab at the lower right reads "BY MONBEBE GLOBAL SUPPORT". Closer to the back of the bus there is a second, taller panel with the same title, the logo and another group photo in winter coats. A row of small square badges runs along the bottom of that panel. They are too small to read in our photo, so we are not naming them.

Door side. Next to the front door, a wide panel repeats "MONSTA X 4TH ANNIVERSARY" between two large logos, above a line of the members in the same white outfits. Small round badges run along the bottom edge here as well. Behind the middle door, a long banner carries the words "MONBEBE GLOBAL SUPPORT" over a row of round flag badges, one after another, with a logo at each end. We can see that the badges are flags, but the lettering under them is too small for us to list the countries.

When did it run?

Our photos were taken on 9 May 2019. The ad does not print a date, only "4TH ANNIVERSARY", so the photo date is the one thing we can state. We don't know when the ad went up or when it came down.

Who organized it?

The ad names "Monbebe Global Support". That is the wording on the panels, and it is all we can say for certain. The row of flag badges on the door side suggests fans in many places took part, but we are keeping to what is printed.

What is a Seoul bus exterior ad?

A bus exterior ad is artwork printed on panels that are fixed to the body of a city bus, below the windows. The bus keeps to its route all day, so the message moves through the city instead of waiting in one place.

This ad shows how the surfaces can share one look while doing different jobs. The road side carries the big group photo. The door side is split by the doors, so it works well for a title panel on one part and a long credit banner on the other. For a project with many fan groups behind it, that second banner is a natural place to show who joined.

How can fans overseas place a similar ad in Korea?

You can plan an anniversary ad like this from anywhere. The usual steps are:

  1. Pick the occasion and the date you want to mark.
  2. Choose where the ad should appear: a city bus, a subway station or another spot.
  3. Get your message and photos ready, and check that you have the right to use them.
  4. Tell us your idea. We will write back with the options that are open for your dates.

If several fan groups are joining, agree early on how the names or badges should appear, because small artwork takes time to lay out clearly.

How It Works explains each stage. When you are ready, request a quote and tell us about your project. Costs depend on the ad type and dates, so please contact us for a quote.
